Szacuje się, że do końca tego roku światowy ruch IP w centrach danych osiągnie 20,6 zettabajtów (w 2016 roku było to 6,8 zettabajtów). Wzrost ilości przetwarzanych informacji powoduje m.in. zwiększenie zapotrzebowania serwerowni na energię elektryczną. W ciągu czterech lat centra danych mogą zużywać nawet 1/5 światowej energii. Ważna jest więc elastyczna rozbudowa infrastruktury zasilania wraz z rosnącą skalą. Coraz bardziej popularne stają się rozwiązania modułowe, które pozwalają dopasowywać zasilanie do zmian zapotrzebowania. |
